ESAB OK 53.70 VP (E7016-1) Electrode

ESAB OK 53.70 VP (E7016-1) is a low-hydrogen electrode designed for AC/DC welding of mild and high-strength steel pipes and structures. It excels in one-sided welding, delivering strong, reliable welds with deep root penetration. Featuring VacPac™ technology, the electrode stays moisture-free, eliminating hydrogen-induced cracking in addition to ensuring optimal weld quality without re-baking.

Compared to standard E7016, the E7016-1 classification offers enhanced toughness at low temperatures, ensuring superior impact resistance in demanding environments. OK 53.70 VP is particularly suited for transmission pipelines, root welding on high-strength pipes, and general structural fabrication. Its basic coating, combined with stable arcs and well-balanced slag, makes it easy to weld in all positions.

It is suitable for welding of transmission pipelines made from pipe steels up to API 5LX56.It is also suitable for welding the root in higher strength pipes, API 5LX60, 5LX65, 5LX70.
