ESAB OK Autrod 5183 Aluminum MIG Wire
ESAB OK Autrod 5183 is an aluminum MIG wire that provides the highest strengths in the as-welded condition of AA 5083 and other high-magnesium alloys. Unlike the more common 5356 alloy, OK Autrod 5183 meets the tensile strength requirements of AA 5083, therefore ensuring superior weld quality for demanding applications. This wire is ideal for marine, structural, and other industries where high strength, impact resistance, and corrosion protection are crucial.
While OK Autrod 5183 offers excellent performance in harsh environments, it is not recommended for elevated temperature applications due to its susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking. However, its non-heat-treatable alloy ensures high fracture toughness, making it suitable for projects that require high performance in the as-welded state.
