ESAB OK 73.79 VP (VacPac™)

The ESAB OK 73.79 VP is a nickel-alloyed, low-hydrogen electrode designed for welding 3.5% Ni steels. Featuring VacPac™ technology, the electrodes are kept moisture-free, eliminating the need for re-baking, ensuring high-quality welds right from the package. With excellent impact toughness down to -101°C, this electrode is ideal for critical applications such as LPG tanks, ethane storage, and chemical plants.

Classified under AWS A5.5 E8016-C2 and approved by DNV-GL and RS, this electrode operates on both AC and DC currents. It delivers reliable welds with minimal hydrogen diffusion (< 5 mL/100g), thus reducing the risk of cracking even in the most demanding environments.

Key Features of ESAB OK 73.79 VP

  • VacPac™ Technology: Keeps electrodes moisture-free, eliminating the need for re-baking and ensuring consistent weld quality.
  • Low Hydrogen Content: Provides < 5.0 mL/100g diffusible hydrogen, reducing the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking.
  • High Impact Toughness: Delivers excellent impact toughness down to -101°C, ensuring weld strength in cold environments.
  • Nickel-Alloyed Electrode: Designed for welding 3.5% Ni steels used in LPG tanks, chemical plants, and more.
